Lisette Serrano, Board MemberLisette is the founder of Serrano Legal Solutions, LLC, and an attorney specializing in family law. She became a lawyer after more than 18 years working as a paralegal, working in bankruptcy and family law.
She obtained her law degree from The John Marshall School in Chicago, received her undergraduate degree from National Louis University and earned her Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from Renton Technical College. During law school, Lisette was vice president of The John Marshall Law School Fair Housing Association and worked on housing discrimination cases as a senior law student at The John Marshall Fair Housing Clinic. There she handled her own caseload utilizing her Illinois Supreme Court 711 license. Lisette also interned at the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic during law school and processed order of protection cases as well as participated in emergency hearings for orders of protection. Lisette has been a volunteer with several non-profit organizations including CARPLS, where she participated in the phone bank to assistant callers. Lisette also spent a year doing volunteer work with the Legal Assistance Foundation, helping families doing divorce, custody and child support litigation. |
