José Padilla, Board MemberSince 2009, Judge Padilla is an Administrative Law Judge for the Cook County Department of Administrative Hearings. He is also an Administrative Law Judge with the City of Chicago Department of Administrative Hearings. He had a solo practice in Family Law and Real Estate Cases.
In Puerto Rico, he had an extensive experience in Workers Compensation cases, litigating thousands of formal Administrative Hearings before the Industrial Commission and drafting legal opinions. He was also the Director of the Contracting Office of the Commonwealth’s State Insurance Fund, a public corporation for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Judge Padilla has a bachelor’s degree in social sciences and later, a Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico. |

He is accepted to practice in the Jurisdictions of Puerto Rico (1995), and Illinois (2003).
He is a member of the Colegio de Abogados de Puerto Rico; American Bar Association, Judicial Division; Illinois State Bar Association; Chicago Bar Association; National Association for Administrative Law Judges; Puerto Rican Bar Association of Illinois. He held the position of Legal Counsel for the League of United Latin American Citizens in Puerto Rico. He currently serves on the executive board for the Puerto Rican Bar Association of Illinois. |
